The Federal Government has withdrawn its criminal complaint against Ms. Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger jailed over a recent unruly behaviour incident at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo announced the decision on Wednesday after consultations with key stakeholders in the aviation sector.

He explained that the move was made on compassionate grounds following appeals from concerned individuals and the remorse expressed by those involved.

Ms. Emmanson, who was arrested after a confrontation aboard an Ibom Air flight on August 10, 2025, is expected to be released from Kirikiri Prison this week.
The Airline Operators of Nigeria has also agreed to lift the lifetime flight ban earlier imposed on her.
