According to an eyewitness who is privy to the development, the deputy governor appeared to be in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital’s emergency unit.
“He seemed to be in a very serious condition when they brought him in,” the source said.

Hospital sources, however, confirmed that Ewhrudjakpo had been stabilised in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). While the exact cause of the health scare is yet to be officially disclosed, preliminary information suggests it may be linked to a cardiac-related emergency.
Another source close to the deputy governor noted that his demanding work schedule may have contributed to the situation.
“He’s a workaholic; he should find time to rest,” the source said.
Security operatives have cordoned off the FMC premises, while top government officials have been arriving at the facility to show support. Attempts to reach the deputy governor’s media aide, Mr. Doubara Atasi, for comments were unsuccessful.
Hospital insiders reports that the deputy governor is receiving the best available medical attention and is currently stable.
