The Kano State Government has received the report from a special committee that investigated a top official. The committee was set up to look into claims that the Commissioner for Transport, Alhaji Ibrahim Namadi, helped a suspected drug baron, Sulaiman Danwawu, get bail.

The investigation was designed to be as comprehensive as possible, with the aim of ensuring due diligence and objectivity in its findings and recommendations.
During their work, the committee interviewed a wide range of individuals, including the accused commissioner himself and other key government officials. They also engaged and consulted with relevant legal and security bodies, such as the State Security Service (SSS) and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), to gather all necessary information.
To support their investigation, the committee meticulously examined documents and reviewed all applicable laws to ensure their process was fair and just.

The report was formally received by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Umar Ibrahim, who commended the committee members for their professionalism, independence, and dedication to the task. He praised their commitment to a fair and impartial investigation.
Alhaji Ibrahim assured the public that the report, along with its recommendations, would be forwarded to Governor Abba Yusuf for his careful review.
He also confirmed that the Governor would take appropriate and decisive action based on the committee’s findings, and that the government’s response would be guided by justice and the rule of law.
