Kogi State has been thrown into mourning following the death of three prominent figures of the All Progressives Congress, whose contributions spanned governance, party organisation, and grassroots mobilisation.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the deceased are Hon. Onojah James Ignatius, Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor and former Chairman of Igalamela Local Government Area; Hon. Jatto Onimisi Suleiman, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor; and Alhaji Alih Atabo, APC Chairman of Anyigba Ward in Dekina Local Government Area.

The development was confirmed on Monday in a statement released in Lokoja by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo, who described their passing as a painful loss to both the state and the ruling party.
Fanwo noted that the trio were widely respected for their dedication to public service and party building, stressing that each played a distinct role in strengthening the APC and supporting governance in Kogi State.
He said Onojah Ignatius was known as a committed grassroots organiser and administrator whose passion for community development reflected in his leadership style, while Jatto Suleiman served with humility and diligence, consistently placing public interest above personal gain.
According to the commissioner, Alhaji Alih Atabo was a loyal party man whose efforts at the ward level contributed significantly to unity and growth within the APC structure.
While details surrounding their deaths were not disclosed, Fanwo conveyed the condolences of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Kogi State Government, and the entire APC family to the bereaved families, communities, and party faithful.
He added that the people of Igalamela, Okene, and Dekina Local Government Areas had lost worthy sons whose legacies of service and commitment would remain a source of inspiration across the state.
