Pastor William Kumuyi, founder of Deeper Life Ministry, and Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), have been honored with the 2025 Yoruba Persons of the Year Award by Irohinodua.
The announcement was made over the weekend by Irohinodua, a pan-Yoruba online news platform, which has been recognizing distinguished Yoruba personalities annually for over a decade.

The media group stated that Kumuyi and Adeboye were jointly selected for their dedication to preaching love and promoting peace throughout 2024.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Feyisike Adeoye, the Editorial Board noted that the two clergymen had a profound influence in fostering unity and religious harmony, both in Nigeria and globally.
“The year 2024 was a fragile era in Nigeria, marked by threats of violence, ethnic tensions, and political divisions,” the statement read. “Despite these challenges, Kumuyi and Adeboye used their platforms to preach peace, brotherhood, and national unity.”

The organization emphasized that while some religious leaders fueled division and political agendas, the two pastors remained steadfast in their commitment to using faith as a tool for reconciliation.
Their influence extended beyond Nigeria, impacting communities where their ministries are deeply rooted.
Irohinodua also acknowledged that both men faced criticism and opposition but maintained a composed and godly response.
