The Lagos State Government has moved to shut down speculations suggesting a strained relationship between Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing such claims as baseless and misleading.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in a statement released on Thursday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Lagos governor, Gboyega Akosile, the state government said the narrative circulating on some online platforms was a complete fabrication with no connection to reality.

Akosile explained that reports alleging a fallout between the two governors misrepresented the true nature of their relationship, stressing that both leaders enjoy a strong and cooperative bond built on mutual respect and shared developmental goals.

According to the statement, Governors Sanwo-Olu and Abiodun maintain regular communication and meetings, particularly on issues affecting Lagos and Ogun states, which share geographical boundaries and intertwined socio-economic interests.
The Lagos government noted that the collaboration between the two administrations is driven by the need to address cross-border challenges and promote regional growth, making any suggestion of rivalry or discord unfounded.

Akosile also warned purveyors of fake news to desist from attempting to create unnecessary tension between the two leaders, emphasizing that both governors remain united by a common vision to improve the welfare and living standards of their people.
He reaffirmed that the relationship between the Lagos and Ogun governors remains cordial, brotherly, and firmly focused on development rather than political distractions.
