The Super Eagles of Nigeria recorded a major boost at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as four of their players were ranked among the tournament’s top ten performers by football statistics platform WhoScored.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman topped the list with an impressive rating of 8.81, emerging as one of the competition’s standout players. Lookman has been pivotal to Nigeria’s unbeaten run, scoring three goals and providing four assists in three matches. The Super Eagles have so far scored twelve goals and conceded four in the tournament.
Egypt captain Mohamed Salah followed in second place with a rating of 8.23, while Senegal forward Sadio Mané ranked third on 7.82. Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen placed fourth with a rating of 7.61 after delivering consistent performances in Nigeria’s attack.
Further strengthening Nigeria’s presence on the list, Akor Adams and Wilfred Ndidi both ranked joint fifth with ratings of 7.59. Ndidi’s midfield control and Adams’ attacking contributions have drawn praise from analysts and fans alike.
Ivory Coast’s Yan Diomande placed seventh with 7.58, while Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez followed in eighth on 7.55. Ivory Coast winger Amad Diallo and Morocco’s Brahim Diaz completed the top ten with identical ratings of 7.54.

With the AFCON quarter final matches set to begin on Friday, attention will turn to Nigeria’s clash with Algeria at the Marrakech Stadium on Saturday. The Super Eagles will be hoping their top rated players can sustain their form as the team targets a place in the semi finals.
