According to Hundeyin, the arrests followed a distress call received by the Ikeja Division on Wednesday, March 5, regarding the abduction of a 48-year-old Pakistani man in the Ikeja area.
Responding swiftly, an anti-crime patrol team rescued the victim and apprehended two suspects—Roman Gull (19) and Aftab Ahmad (28)—both Pakistani nationals, while five others managed to escape.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects and their accomplices lured the victim from Kano to Lagos under the guise of offering him a job as a chef. They booked his flight and lodged him in a hotel on February 28, 2025.
The next day, the suspects visited the victim, overpowered him, tied his hands and legs, and demanded a ransom of ₦50 million from his employer in Kano, threatening to kill him if the demand was not met. The employer paid ₦1 million three days later to buy time before alerting the police.
Items recovered from the suspects include a grey Toyota Camry used for operations, the victim’s $2,000 cash, three ATM cards, a green card, a driver’s license, and an NIN slip.
Hundeyin assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, who will be arraigned in court after the investigation is concluded.
