The meeting, themed “Equal Participation In Governance Highlighting the Importance of Collaboration in Achieving the Present Administration’s Themes Plus Plus Agenda,” brought together top political and government figures, including members of the executive, legislature and other critical stakeholders.
A communiqué issued at the end of the event and signed by Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, emphasised the need for stronger cooperation among the three arms of government.
According to the communiqué, the forum aimed to promote effective collaboration between the executive, legislative and judicial arms in addressing governance challenges and improving policy implementation.
Participants stressed that a united approach is essential, urging deeper collaboration built on “cooperation, coordination, communication and consensus.”

They also highlighted the importance of structured engagement between the government and party structures to encourage grassroots participation and inclusive decision making.
The forum further called for stronger synergy between the ruling All Progressives Congress and the government to enhance cohesion and position the party for success in the 2027 elections.
Among other resolutions, participants urged early engagement between the executive and legislature on budget processes, as well as continuous dialogue on policies to improve efficiency and reduce duplication.
They also recommended regular quarterly meetings involving the executive, members of the National Assembly and the Lagos State House of Assembly to align priorities and track performance.
Additionally, the parley suggested restructuring such engagements to allow for more detailed closed door discussions among political stakeholders, including the Governance Advisory Council and party leadership.
The participants maintained that improved coordination and unified direction across institutions would enhance development outcomes and strengthen governance in Lagos State.
