Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has reaffirmed that his administration will not enter into negotiations with armed bandits, insisting that security operations will continue until criminal groups surrender or are brought to justice.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the governor’s position was conveyed on Sunday by his Chief of Staff, Mukhtar Musa, during the inauguration of the secretariat of the Association of Zamfara State Indigenes Residing in Kaduna.

The event also included the distribution of food items to vulnerable members of the association.
Speaking on behalf of the governor, Musa said the state government remains committed to tackling insecurity by working closely with security agencies and providing the support needed for ongoing operations.

He stated that the administration would continue supplying logistics, operational equipment, ammunition and other resources to security personnel engaged in the fight against banditry.
According to him, the government’s position is clear that any bandit willing to surrender should do so immediately, while those who refuse will face the full force of the law.
Musa stressed that security offensives would continue until lasting peace is restored across Zamfara State.
He also called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by sharing credible intelligence and promptly reporting suspicious activities, noting that community support remains vital to defeating criminal groups.
The Chief of Staff assured citizens that Governor Lawal remains focused on restoring peace while delivering development projects across the state.
He described the gathering in Kaduna as a demonstration of unity among Zamfara indigenes living outside the state and commended the association for establishing its new secretariat.
Musa further disclosed that the Zamfara State Government had donated ₦5 million to support the association’s programmes and announced that Governor Lawal plans to visit members in the future.
Earlier, the association’s chairman, Garba Balarabe, described the opening of the secretariat as a major achievement that would strengthen coordination, unity and the welfare of Zamfara indigenes in Kaduna.

He said the association distributed 280 bags of 10 kilogramme rice, vegetable oil and spaghetti to less privileged members during the event and appealed to the state government for assistance in acquiring a permanent office.
Also speaking, Zamfara State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Abdulrahman Tumbido, said many indigenes relocated to Kaduna because of insecurity but expressed optimism that peace would soon return to the state.
National President of the association, Alhaji Usman Balarabe, urged members to remain united and continue supporting women, children and other vulnerable groups through the association’s programmes.
In her remarks, the association’s Ex Officio, Hajiya Aishatu Maradun, called for sustained government support to strengthen the organisation and expand opportunities for members.
Representing Engr. Abdullahi AbdulKarim Tsafe, Engr. Garba Abubakar officially inaugurated the secretariat and praised the association’s humanitarian efforts. He also recommended translating the association’s constitution into Hausa to make it more accessible to members and improve its administration.
