He noted that beyond cultural celebration, the Kayokayo Festival has consistently prioritised initiatives that directly improve the wellbeing of the people.
According to him, the essence of the medical outreach is rooted in the belief that healthcare should not be limited to those who can afford it, but should be accessible to all members of the community, especially the less privileged.
He stressed that the organisers view health as a fundamental human need that must be supported through collective responsibility and community-driven action.

Amuni explained that the 175th edition of the festival provided an opportunity to expand the scope of medical services offered to residents. He said the committee deliberately widened the range of interventions this year to include Hepatitis B screening, dental care, eye examinations, malaria testing, blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, health consultations, and referrals where necessary.
He added that this expansion was intended to address more health concerns within the community and ensure that beneficiaries receive more comprehensive care.
He further stated that the increased turnout recorded during the outreach reflected the growing trust the community has in the initiative. According to him, the steady participation of residents over the years demonstrates that the programme has become a reliable avenue for accessing basic healthcare services.
The Chairman of the Medical Committee also expressed deep appreciation to all individuals and groups who contributed to the success of the outreach.
He specifically acknowledged donors, medical professionals, volunteers, development partners, media practitioners, and community leaders who supported the planning and execution of the programme.

He described their involvement as crucial, noting that without their contributions in terms of funding, expertise, time, and logistics, the outreach would not have achieved its level of impact. He emphasised that the success of the initiative is a reflection of what can be achieved when different stakeholders work together with a shared purpose.
Amuni also used the opportunity to commend members of the Epe community for their continuous support of the Kayokayo Festival over the years. He said the festival’s ability to sustain such humanitarian programmes is largely due to the cooperation and encouragement received from residents and stakeholders within and outside the community.
He reaffirmed the committee’s commitment to improving and expanding the medical outreach in future editions, stating that lessons learned from each year’s programme are used to strengthen planning and delivery. He added that the goal is to ensure that more people benefit and that the quality of services continues to improve.
The organisers maintained that the medical outreach remains a central part of the Kayokayo Festival’s broader mission, which combines cultural heritage with social responsibility. They reiterated that the festival is not only about celebrating history but also about creating meaningful impact in the lives of the people it represents.
