Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has approved the establishment of new functional libraries in eight public primary schools across the council area, as part of efforts to strengthen basic education and promote a reading culture among pupils.

One of the beneficiary schools is LG Primary School, Ilege, where a well-equipped library space has been successfully set up to provide pupils with access to age-appropriate books and relevant learning materials.
The initiative is aimed at enhancing literacy, creativity, and academic development at the foundational level.
With the addition of the newly approved libraries, the number of public primary schools with functional library facilities in Lekki LCDA has increased from four to twelve, marking a significant boost to educational infrastructure within the council.
Speaking on the initiative, Engr. Kasali explained that the library project is designed to support effective learning and would be extended to more schools across the LCDA. He noted that each library will be properly tailored to meet the specific learning needs of pupils in the respective schools.
The Executive Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in education as a key pillar of sustainable development, stressing that access to quality learning resources remains essential to shaping the future of children in the council area.
Other beneficiary schools under the programme are expected to be unveiled in subsequent reports, as the library initiative continues to expand across Lekki LCDA.
