A man, Sholola Kazeem, has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly pouring hot oil on his wife, Sholola Mutiat, and stabbing her during a domestic dispute.

The command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, disclosed the incident occurred on Saturday in the Ring Road community of Owode Egba, Obafemi/Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Kazeem reportedly attacked his wife in a fit of uncontrollable anger following a disagreement.
The violent act left the victim with severe burns and a stab wound to her head.

“The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba division promptly intervened in this gender-based violence case, leading to the arrest of the suspect,” Odutola said.
According to a police statement, the assault was reported by concerned members of the Ring Road community. Upon receiving the report, officers visited the scene, and the victim was rushed to Ore Ofé Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Odutola confirmed that the suspect is in custody and undergoing investigation.
“The crime scene has been examined, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available,” she added.
The incident has sparked outrage among community members and advocates against domestic violence.
