The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested Jimoh Abdulrahman for allegedly assaulting his wife, Mrs. Akintunde Bidemi Taiwo, in the NOVA area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, the incident occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2025.In response to a tip-off and a viral video of the victim, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, instructed the DPO of Oke-Ila to swiftly identify and arrest the suspect, as well as initiate a full investigation.
Abutu stated, “Upon a tip-off and after watching the viral video of the victim, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, directed the DPO Oke-Ila to immediately identify the culprit, arrest him and commence a thorough investigation.
“The operatives from Oke-Ila division swung into action and arrested the suspect”.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that operatives from the Oke-Ila division acted promptly, leading to the arrest of the suspect.
The case has been transferred to the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for further investigation and legal proceedings.
