In a viral video, MC Orobo dismissed VDM’s arguments as “childish and baseless,” accusing him of lacking knowledge about record label contracts and artists’ rights.
He explained that in most deals, artists have the option to buy out their catalog over time, implying that VDM misunderstood the industry’s legal framework.
“Why is no one coming forward to speak positively about EezeeTee?” Orobo questioned, hinting that the situation might be more complex than VDM suggested.
His remarks have triggered a heated debate across social media, with some users supporting his call for informed discussions, while others defended VDM’s right to express his views.
Orobo advised VDM to “take a back seat” and educate himself on music business contracts before making further public statements.
As the controversy rages on, it continues to highlight issues surrounding record label practices and artists’ rights in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
