Meet 52-Year Old Narok Woman Who Eats Soil, Travels 7km To Harvest It
Fifty two year old Catherine Chepkemoi has left Kenyans with more questions than answers due to the preference of what she consumes.
According to a report aired by NTV on Saturday evening, Chepkemoi who lives in Mulot area in Narok County travels a distance of approximately 7kilometeres to acquire soil with a jembe and a sack.
After reaching her destination, Chepkemoi starts toiling the ground to get the tip tear of the soil and when she is satisfied with what she has collected, boards a boda boda back to her residence.

Once she arrives, she settles for her meal and enjoys every bit of it.
“… Since I started eating soil, I have no appetite for food. I have so much appetite for soil compared to food. I just take food just because people eat it. Even sometimes I wake up at night and take my plate and eat it slowly…” she said.
Chepkemoi’s daughter identified as Vicky Kirui is also puzzled by the behavior of her mother and states that she is not aware what her mother is suffering from.
The mother of seven started eating soil while she was pregnant and the urge to eat more re-emerged three years ago after she fell sick.
According to Chepkemoi’s sister Stella Chesimet, the affected got sick and was diagnosed with meningitis and after she recovered, she started having cravings for the soil.
