Under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government is committed to completing the National Library Headquarters in Abuja.

Over the past few months, the Federal Ministry of Education has held several meetings with members of the National Library team and its contractors to discuss the resumption of the project.

The project, which was designed in 1981 and began construction in 2006, is the third of three national monuments (alongside the National Ecumenical Centre and the National Mosque) that has yet to be completed.

This week, the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa and his team toured the project site with the CEO of the National Library, the project’s architect, and the contractor to assess the progress made before construction paused in 2012.
