In a statement released on Thursday, Fagbemi explained that Egbetokun’s appointment officially began on October 31, 2023. Although he has reached the mandatory retirement age of 60, the 2024 amendment to the Police Act allows him to complete the full four-year tenure granted to an IGP under Section 7(6) of the Act.
