Real Madrid have confirmed the return of José Mourinho as head coach, with the Portuguese manager signing a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2029.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Spanish giants announced on Thursday that Mourinho will officially begin his second spell at the Santiago Bernabéu on July 13 when the team resumes pre-season preparations.

The appointment comes after a disappointing campaign in which Madrid ended the season without winning a major title for the second year in a row, finishing behind rivals Barcelona in domestic competitions.

Mourinho takes over from Álvaro Arbeloa and returns to a club he previously managed between 2010 and 2013. During his first stint, he guided Madrid to a La Liga title, a Copa del Rey triumph, and a Spanish Super Cup, while also setting a then-record 100-point tally in the Spanish top flight.
The 63-year-old arrives from Portuguese side Benfica, where he recently oversaw an unbeaten league season. Reports indicate that Real Madrid agreed to pay compensation to secure his services.
Club president Florentino Pérez has long been an admirer of Mourinho and recently praised his influence on the foundations that contributed to Madrid’s dominance in Europe in the years following his departure.
