The Nigeria Democratic Congress has unveiled the cost and timetable for aspirants interested in contesting under its platform in the 2027 general elections, announcing that those seeking the party’s presidential ticket will pay a total of ₦60 million for both Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.
Details released on Tuesday in a schedule jointly signed by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Zwughele, and National Secretary, Ikenna Enenweizu, showed that presidential hopefuls will pay ₦20 million for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦40 million for the Nomination Form, Eko Hot Blog gathered.

The party also published a full timetable outlining activities leading to its primaries, including screening exercises, appeals, form sales and submission dates for all elective positions.
According to the schedule, the sale of Expression of Interest Forms will begin on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, and end on Monday, May 18, 2026.

Screening and interviews for aspirants are expected to hold between May 19 and May 21, after which successful candidates will proceed to purchase Nomination Forms.
The NDC urged all aspirants to attend the screening exercise with the necessary documents and credentials required for verification.
Sales of Nomination Forms are scheduled to run from May 21 to May 23, while completed forms must be returned no later than May 25, 2026.
The party further stated that appeals related to the screening process will be entertained on May 25 and 26, with primary elections for various offices slated for May 27 and 28.
The presidential primary election is expected to take place in Abuja on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Under the approved fee structure, aspirants for State Houses of Assembly are expected to pay ₦2.5 million, while House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦6 million. Senate aspirants are to pay ₦8 million, while governorship hopefuls will pay ₦30 million in total.

The party maintained that its fees are comparatively lower than those charged by many major political parties in the country.
It also announced discounts for certain categories of aspirants. Female contestants are to pay half of the approved fees, while persons living with disabilities will pay only 25 per cent across all categories.
In addition, the NDC disclosed that all aspirants must sign an undertaking in line with the party’s rules and code of conduct.
Screening for State House of Assembly aspirants will take place in their respective states, while National Assembly and presidential aspirants will be screened at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja. Governorship primaries, according to the party, will be conducted at the local government level.

The NDC also said it would adopt an open secret ballot system during its primaries to strengthen transparency and internal democracy.
The party has recently gained attention following the involvement of prominent politicians, including Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, who have aligned with the movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Founded under the guidance of Seriake Dickson, the NDC held its first national convention on May 9, 2026, at the Los Angeles Event Centre, where it officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria.
