Wachuku revealed that Fredrick emerged as the party’s standard-bearer through a unified consensus affirmation during primary elections conducted across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
He described the candidate as a young, tenacious grassroots politician who has consistently demonstrated strong leadership capacity and dedication to national renewal.
Fredrick’s political journey includes founding the “Ward2Ward” grassroots support group before establishing the NDP in 2026 to serve the country more effectively.
During the party’s first National Executive Council (NEC) congress, which was closely observed by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), she also emerged as its first National Chairman alongside members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
Wachuku emphasized that the NDP is a progressive political family that highly values the energy of the youth and the inherent value of the female gender, noting that Fredrick’s candidacy embodies the party’s core mission to put Nigeria first and uphold a bright future.
Outlining the party’s core vision for the country, the publicity secretary highlighted key target areas, including the provision of basic infrastructure to drive economic growth and job creation.
The NDP is also proposing accessible and affordable healthcare, human capital investments through quality education, and structured social support for retirees and the elderly.
A central piece of their economic strategy involves a deliberate shift toward the inward processing of Nigeria’s natural resources, transforming them into value-added production to position the country as an exporter of finished goods rather than just raw materials.
On governance, the party pledged to run an inclusive administration that eliminates waste and leakages while safeguarding true federalism across all tiers of government.

In her acceptance speech, Fredrick described her emergence as a huge responsibility, stating that Nigeria urgently requires the empathetic leadership that women can passionately provide.
She promised to give Nigerians the light of hope, fulfill the party’s manifesto promises, and called on women and youths to join hands to build a better nation.
Endorsing her candidacy, David Oroge, the 2027 NDP candidate for the House of Representatives in Abuja South, praised Fredrick’s exceptional grassroots skills and structural mobilization capabilities, advising Nigerian youths to back a leader with “pure hands and a pure heart”.
