The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE Internal), with 60.26 per cent of candidates securing five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.
The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, announced the release on Wednesday at the council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State. He noted that the examination was conducted nationwide between June 16 and July 25, 2025.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that according to him, a total of 1,367,210 candidates registered for the examination, comprising 685,514 males and 681,696 females. Out of this number, 1,358,339 candidates sat for the examination, with 680,292 males and 678,047 females. He further disclosed that 1,144,496 candidates, representing 84.26 per cent, obtained five credits and above, irrespective of their performance in Mathematics and English.
The Registrar also revealed that 1,622 candidates with special needs participated in the examination. Among them were 586 males and 355 females with hearing impairments, as well as 111 males and 80 females with visual impairments.
NECO directed candidates to follow due process in checking their results online and warned against using unauthorised vendors when purchasing result-checking tokens.
Steps to Check NECO Results:
- Visit the official NECO result portal at results.neco.gov.ng
- Select the examination year (e.g., 2025) and type (SSCE Internal or External)
- Enter NECO Examination Number
- Input the Result Checking Token Number (purchased from the official portal or authorised vendors)
- Click “Check Result” to view the results and print a copy for record keeping

Prof. Wushishi urged parents, schools, and stakeholders to guide students in accessing their results correctly and ensure the authenticity of tokens purchased.
