EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Wednesday via his official X handle, the former Anambra State governor described the images linking him to both men as “fake and doctored.” He maintained that he had no such meetings and accused those behind the photos of deliberately spreading disinformation.
“My attention has been drawn to pictures circulating on social media, falsely portraying meetings I never had. One of such images purports to show me with US President Donald Trump, while another seeks to depict me with MC Oluomo. Let me state categorically that both pictures are fake and the accompanying stories are entirely false,” Obi said.
He stressed that Nigerians and the international community must remain alert to the dangers of fake news, urging people to always verify information before sharing. According to him, such fabrications are designed to confuse, mislead, and distract the public.
“For the avoidance of doubt, if I had such meetings, I would have personally made them public on my handle. My politics has never been about seeking praise or cheap publicity; it is about confronting Nigeria’s real problems with solutions grounded in integrity, accountability, and transparency,” he stated.
Obi reiterated that his political agenda remains centered on addressing insecurity, strengthening the rule of law, improving education and healthcare, and pulling millions of Nigerians out of poverty. He noted that fake narratives will not derail his commitment to the people.
