The Kwara State Police Command has recovered the dismembered body of a pregnant woman found inside a sack in the Egbejila area of Ilorin.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect, a younger brother of the woman’s husband, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The police disclosed this in a statement on Saturday through the Command’s spokesperson, Ejire Adeyemi.
The statement reads: “The Kwara State Police Command wishes to inform the public of a tragic incident that occurred early on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Temidire community, Egbejila Road, Ilorin.
Around 9:00 a.m., a local resident reported suspected foul play at the residence of Mr Ekene Enemo.
“Following a rapid police response, detectives visited the scene and discovered the dismembered body of Mrs Esther Enemo, aged 39, in the bush behind her home. Further searches led to the recovery of other body parts hidden in a sack and dumped under a nearby community bridge.
“A suspect, Mr Sylvester Enemo, 29, the younger brother of the victim’s husband, was seen leaving the house shortly before the body was found and has been arrested in connection with the crime. Meanwhile, the husband, Mr Ekene Enemo, has been contacted for further clarification.”
The statement added that the remains have been evacuated and deposited at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, CP Ojo Adekimi, has ordered a full-scale investigation, assuring the public that the Command will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

While expressing deep regret over the incident, the police appealed to the public to remain calm and avoid spreading speculation that could incite fear or tension in the community.
“The police are fully committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding this incident and ensuring all those responsible face the full weight of the law.
Security measures have been reinforced across the state to protect lives and property.
Residents are urged to continue cooperating by providing information that can assist ongoing investigations and security operations.
“The Kwara State Police Command remains resolute in protecting all residents and ensuring peace prevails in our communities,” the statement concluded.
