EKO HOT BLOG reports that the message, widely shared as an infographic, alleged that owners of private, commercial and company vehicles would be required to pay a new tax through online platforms or approved banks.
In a statement, the Special Adviser to the Chairman of the NRS, Dare Adekambi, clarified that the content was not issued by any official source.
He added that the website referenced in the viral post is not the agency’s authorised platform, noting that the official NRS website is different from the one being circulated.
The agency stressed that no new vehicle tax has been introduced by the Federal Government as claimed in the message.
It warned Nigerians to exercise caution when consuming information on social media, particularly from unverified or unknown sources.
Adekambi advised the public to rely on official communication channels for accurate updates on tax policies and government directives.

He added that misleading posts such as the viral infographic are designed to create confusion and should be disregarded.
