The Zumunta Association USA Incorporation, in collaboration with the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has announced its plan to train 1,000 Nigerian youth in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as part of its 2025 annual convention.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the initiative was introduced at a press conference held at NiDCOM’s headquarters in Abuja.

Aimed at narrowing the digital skills gap and addressing youth unemployment, especially in Nasarawa State, the program forms part of a wider effort by Zumunta and NiDCOM to empower young Nigerians through opportunities centered around technology.
The Chairman of NiDCOM, Abike Dabiri Erewa, represented by the Secretary to the Commission, Dr Sule Yakubu Bassi, described the project as a model for diaspora involvement, emphasizing that Nigeria’s future depends on investing in its young population.

President of Zumunta USA Inc., Mr Sunday Bitrus, stated that the training highlights the Nigerian diaspora’s dedication to national progress, especially in tackling the shortage of technical skills among young people.
Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, represented by the Commissioner for Women and Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Margaret Elayo, praised the collaboration, calling it the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at empowering the youth.
The 2025 convention will feature seven main events: a three day free medical outreach, a seven day ICT training for 1,000 youth, golf and tennis tournaments, a business investment meeting, panel discussions, and a gala and awards night.
