EKO HOT BLOG reports that the demonstration followed an earlier order by the court remanding Sowore at the Kuje Correctional Centre in Abuja.
The court had fixed Tuesday, June 30, 2026, to rule on Sowore’s application seeking the restoration of his bail and the setting aside of a bench warrant previously issued against him.
Justice Mohammed Umar adjourned the matter after counsel to both parties adopted their respective processes in the application.
During the protest, demonstrators chanted, “Free Sowore now. We want a better Nigeria.”

They also appealed to security personnel stationed at the court entrance to remain good citizens, saying they were advocating for a better Nigeria that future generations would enjoy.
