According to the Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRROs), Nigeria ranked first among countries with the most deported citizens from India during the 2023-24 period.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that in the annual report released by the Union Home Ministry, it was noted that 2,331 foreigners were deported from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024.

Nigerian nationals made up the majority of deportees, with 1,470 individuals.

The FRROs, responsible for maintaining records of foreign visitors who enter India with valid documents, cited possible reasons for deportation, including overstaying visas or violating visa conditions.
Meanwhile, India’s neighbour, Bangladesh, ranked second on the list, with 411 people deported to the country.
Another African country, Uganda, with 78 of its citizens among the deportees, ranked third.
