According to the statement, the initiative is being championed by the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) with the goal of achieving 50 per cent local content in renewable energy production within the next three years.
“The partnership aims to deliver 4,000 megawatts of renewable energy manufacturing capacity to catalyse value-chain development across participating states,” the communique stated.

The plan is one of the key outcomes of the NREIF Forum meeting held on October 14–15, 2025, in Abuja, and chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Officials say the move underscores Nigeria’s commitment to energy transition and sustainable development while strengthening local participation in the renewable energy value chain.
