Tuggar said the agreement came after a virtual meeting with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, Christopher Landau. They talked about how both countries can benefit from working together.
“We discussed important areas like energy, technology, trade, education, security, freedom of religion, and immigration,” Tuggar said. “Nigeria is ready to work with the new Trump administration to achieve common goals and build stronger ties.”
He also mentioned Nigeria’s efforts to manage migration better, such as the Technical Aide Corps (TAC), which sends skilled Nigerians to help other countries develop.
Tuggar explained that programs like this make migration more organized and useful for both Nigeria and its partners.
In response, Landau said the U.S. is committed to a strong and lasting relationship with Nigeria. He said they want to increase business, improve security partnerships, and strengthen diplomatic relations.
