The sheer force of the explosion left a trail of destruction, claiming the lives of nearly a dozen people and overwhelming local medical facilities with dozens of wounded victims.
This latest act of violence has further strained the already “frosty” diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan.
Just twenty-four hours prior to this blast, Pakistan’s foreign ministry summoned the top Afghan diplomat to protest a separate weekend massacre in Bannu, which Islamabad claims was masterminded by terrorists residing on Afghan soil.

While the Taliban continues to deny that their territory serves as a safe haven, the ongoing friction has recently escalated into armed border conflicts and Pakistani airstrikes.
As the region grapples with this wave of terror, the Pakistani government is under increasing pressure to bolster security along its volatile borders.
The recurring nature of these checkpoint attacks suggests a coordinated effort by militant groups to destabilize the provincial administration.
Investigations are currently underway to identify the specific group behind Tuesday’s carnage, while the international community watches the escalating military tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan with growing concern.
