The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has described himself as the most experienced politician currently active in Rivers State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Wike made the statement on Saturday during a special media chat in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking about Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s return to his political camp, the minister said those who allegedly influenced the governor to engage in a political face off with him had nothing positive to contribute to the development of the state.
Wike said his long experience in politics had given him a deep understanding of the state’s political landscape and its key actors.
He said, “I was a governor in the state and I know all these people. In fact, there is no politician in the state today that is more experienced than me.
“From 1999, I can say that I am the most experienced politician that is still on.”
Wike Says FCT Won’t Complete Millennium Tower Project
Meanwhile, Wike has said the Federal Capital Territory Administration will not complete the abandoned Millennium Tower project in Abuja in its current financial circumstances.
The minister explained that the cost of completing the project had increased to between ₦300 billion and ₦400 billion, making it financially unviable for the FCT Administration to fund.
Wike disclosed this on Thursday during an inspection tour of ongoing road and infrastructure projects across Abuja.
The minister said he had appealed to President Bola Tinubu to intervene by reconsidering the project as a strategic national development initiative and taking responsibility for its funding.
According to Wike, committing such a huge amount of public funds to a single project would place significant pressure on the finances of the FCT Administration.
He warned that completing the project solely with FCT funds could force the administration to abandon other critical infrastructure projects across the capital.
Responding to questions about the long delayed landmark project, Wike stressed the need for a realistic approach to Abuja’s development priorities.
He said the FCT Administration must focus its resources on projects that would have a broader impact on residents and the overall development of the capital.
