According to Eko Hot Blog, the “Running to You” crooner shared that marriage is not on his radar at all, stressing that it simply doesn’t make sense to him at this stage in life. “In my personal opinion, in fact, I think it’s a stupid step to get married. That’s my opinion,” he stated.

Though known for love-themed hits, Chike revealed that his happiness isn’t rooted in romance or relationships—but in money. He admitted that financial comfort plays a major role in his emotional well-being. “To be honest, for me to be happy, I need a lot of money. This is not even carnal… I like money. I want money,” he said.
He also gave fans a peek into his journey to stardom, sharing a painful memory of when he needed just ₦400,000 to organize a show early in his career. Many friends he used to hang out with ignored his calls when he reached out for support. “Some of them just stopped picking my calls,” he recounted.
It wasn’t until a female friend came to his rescue, offering the money without hesitation, that he was able to move forward. “She just looked at me and said, ‘Chike, don’t worry, I’ll give you the money. Just go and concentrate.’ That’s how I got the money,” he said.

Chike also reflected on how uncertain he once was about his future in music. He said it wasn’t until after graduating from university that he saw music as a serious path. Before getting his big break, he had to take acting gigs just to survive.
The singer’s career began in earnest in 2015 with his appearance on Project Fame, and he later emerged as the first runner-up on The Voice Nigeria in 2016. His debut single Fancy was released that same year, marking the start of his rise in the Nigerian music scene.
Despite his success, Chike’s honesty about love, money, and friendship reminds fans that fame often hides a difficult journey behind the scenes.
