Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, Lagos State, on Monday, 9th February, 2026, received a delegation from the National Universities Commission for the accreditation of its Nursing Science Programme.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the accreditation team, led by Professor Emmanuel Anyebe, arrived on campus to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the programme in line with national academic and professional standards.

The visit forms part of the Commission’s statutory responsibility to evaluate academic programmes across Nigerian universities.
The exercise covers critical areas including curriculum content, staffing, facilities, teaching and learning resources, clinical training, and overall compliance with approved benchmarks for nursing education.
Management of the University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Professor Anthony Alaba Akinwale, OP, formally received the team and expressed appreciation for the Commission’s continued guidance in strengthening quality assurance in higher education.
“We appreciate the National Universities Commission for its commitment to maintaining standards in Nigerian universities. This process helps us to improve and sustain excellence,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
He reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to producing competent and well-trained nursing professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to Nigeria’s healthcare sector.
The NUC team is scheduled to interact with staff and students of the Department of Nursing Science, inspect lecture halls, laboratories, clinical facilities and other infrastructure supporting the programme.
A member of the accreditation team noted that the process is designed to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
“Our goal is to ensure that nursing graduates meet national and professional expectations in both knowledge and practice,” the team lead stated.
The accreditation exercise underscores Augustine University’s commitment to academic excellence and its resolve to uphold national standards in professional education.
