HRM. Oba Olayeni Arowolo Adebambo, the Gbadewolu of Araromi Oguntimehin Kingdom, hosted several schools and children for the 12th Annual Araromi Children’s Day on May 27, 2025.

EKOHOTBLOG gathered that the event was an annual occasion in Araromi, which started as far back as May 27, 2013, initiated by the paramount ruler of Araromi, Oguntimehin, Oba Alayeluwa Olayeni Arowolo Adebambo.
With the aim to foster communal love and appreciation for children and youths of Araromi Oguntimehin kingdom, the event is now held yearly, featuring a lot of fun moments, including march past and cultural exhibitions.

Oba Lukman warmly welcomed community members, guests, and visitors, emphasising the importance of cultural preservation and communal solidarity.
Following his remarks, the event was officially inaugurated with a ceremonial flag-off of the march past.
During the parade, students and pupils from various schools in Araromi and neighbouring communities displayed discipline and pride through their coordinated march past and colourful cultural display.

The celebration continued with a series of fun-filled activities, including traditional Yoruba dances, engaging bottle games, and the popular Antilogwu dance.
A particularly captivating segment was the cosplay of the Imale-Igodo masquerade by children, which showcased their creativity and cultural understanding.
Prizes and honours were awarded to distinguished community leaders for their contributions to development and cultural preservation.

Chief Ojo Segun was honoured with the title of Otun Asojuoba, while Chief Ayoade Rotimi received the Otun Jagunmolu title.
Chief Atanda Haruna was conferred with the title of Aare Gbobaniyi of Araromi Kingdom.

HRM. Oba Lukman Olayeni Arowolo Adebambo expressed his delights at the conclusion of the event, charging other monarchs to emulate Araromi.
“…as a new community, and me being its new leader, I saw the need to create a legacy that will benefit the community, and this is not the first but the 12th since I was upgraded to the status of Oba, from my previous status of Baale…” He said

“…in our motto, we said we lead; others follow. I want to encourage other monarchs to join in the celebration and emulate us.” He added.
Furthermore, he called on the state government to support the initiative as a meaningful way of promoting community engagement and creating a harmonious environment for children and youths to thrive.

Overall, the event served not only as a celebration of childhood but also as an affirmation of the community’s cultural heritage.
It provided a platform for education, entertainment, and social cohesion, leaving lasting positive impressions on all participants.
