Among the prominent personalities who paid tribute to the late monarch is the Commissioner III of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Otunba Dr. Olusegun Agbaje.
During a condolence visit to the monarch’s widow, Olori Alhaja Aribike Adewale, Dr. Agbaje delivered a heartfelt message in honour of the late king, praising his life of peace, wisdom, and unity.
Describing Oba Eshilokun I as a “good man” and a “regal icon,” Dr. Agbaje reflected emotionally on the monarch’s legacy. “He was a true peacemaker who led with wisdom, love, and calm,” he said.
“Even in difficult times, while others saw challenges, Kabiyesi saw opportunities. He always chose the path of peace and guided us with gentle strength.”
Dr. Agbaje expressed the collective shock of the Epe community over the king’s sudden passing, noting that many had hoped to continue benefiting from his noble reign and impactful leadership.
“Nobody expected him to leave us so soon,” he added. “His presence brought stability and hope to our people.”
The TESCOM Commissioner also joined other dignitaries at the Fidau prayer held in honour of the late monarch at the First Epe Central Mosque, Oke-Balogun. There, he offered prayers for divine comfort and strength for the bereaved royal family.
