Oba Maruf Adelani Adeniyi has officially announced the much-anticipated annual Gbawojo Day festival, set to hold this Easter period, 5th of April 2026, at Gbawojo Square.
Eko Hot Blog reports that According to the monarch, the festival promises to be a grand celebration of the kingdom’s culture, heritage, and unity. “Gbawojo Day is a time for our people to come together, celebrate our traditions, and showcase the rich heritage of Odogbawojo Kingdom,” Oba Maruf Adelani Adeniyi said.
The event will feature a series of cultural and community activities, including ceremonial prayers, traditional chants, and a special Oriki recital to honour the ancestors and founders of the kingdom. The Oba will also make a royal appearance to welcome attendees and offer blessings for the year ahead.
Colorful parades by social clubs, family groups, and students from local schools are expected, highlighting unity, discipline, and cultural pride. Talent showcases, cultural performances, and awards for outstanding participants will also be part of the festivities.
