Former President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump were seen sharing a lighthearted conversation on Thursday ahead of former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral, but lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman suggested their smiles masked a more serious exchange.

Trump, 78, appeared mindful of the cameras as he leaned toward Obama, 63, and advised they “find a quiet place” later to discuss a “matter of importance.” While the precise nature of their conversation remains unclear, Freeman interpreted their discussion as revolving around international agreements.

At one point, Trump told Obama, “I’ve pulled out of that. It’s the conditions. Can you imagine that?” Obama laughed, and Trump added, “and after, I will,” before the camera feed cut away. Trump later remarked, “Call me at the foy after, yep,” possibly referencing the foyer of the National Cathedral.

Obama then said, “can you just … it should be good,” and Trump responded, “I can’t talk, we have to find a quiet place sometime. This is a matter of importance, and we need to do this outside so that we can deal with it, certainly, today.”
