During the visit, the lawmaker commended the First Lady for organising an interfaith event where women from Christian and Muslim communities gathered to break their fast during the overlapping observance of Ramadan and Lent.

Obasa described the First Lady’s efforts to extend the benefits of the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda to grassroots communities as highly impactful.
According to him, the visit was meant to show solidarity with the First Lady during the religious fasting period and to acknowledge her contributions to social development initiatives across the country.
He noted that Oluremi Tinubu has continued to demonstrate strong leadership, recalling her earlier role in community initiatives during her time in Lagos before becoming First Lady at the national level under the administration of Bola Tinubu.

Obasa also highlighted some of the programmes implemented through the Renewed Hope Initiative, including the distribution of food supplies and the provision of sanitary pads for girls in secondary schools.
He praised the initiative for its positive impact on women, children, and young people, saying such interventions complement the efforts of the federal government to improve citizens’ welfare.
The Speaker further urged state governors and their spouses, who serve as coordinators of the initiative in their respective states, to actively support the programme so that more Nigerians can benefit from its projects.

He emphasised that collaboration between the federal government and state authorities would help expand the reach of the initiative and ensure that its benefits reach communities across all 36 states.
Obasa added that governors should also help inform citizens about the programmes and opportunities available through the Renewed Hope Agenda, using the First Lady’s initiative as a platform to connect federal policies with people at the grassroots level.
