The royal families of Oduah, Eshilokun Masha, and Oluwa of Lagos and Apapa have announced plans to hold the 8th-day Fidau prayer in loving memory of the late Alhaji Fatai Abiola Oduah, a respected figure whose passing has drawn deep sympathy from across the state and beyond.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the special prayer session is scheduled for Saturday, 2nd August 2025, and will take place at the Race Course Marquee, Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos, starting at 11:00 am prompt.

The event is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional rulers, religious leaders, political figures, community members, and well-wishers from all walks of life who will come together to honor the memory of the late Alhaji Oduah.
The Fidau, an Islamic prayer held on the 8th day after a Muslim’s passing, is a significant spiritual event in Islamic tradition. It offers prayers for the repose of the soul of the departed and serves as a reflection of the individual’s legacy and the lives they touched.
The ceremony will feature Quranic recitations, supplications, and spiritual reflections led by prominent Islamic clerics.
