The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has charged Lagos State indigenes selected into the Nigerian Army 90 Regular Recruits Intake to uphold discipline, excellence, and integrity as they begin their journey of national service.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Hon. Olowa gave the charge at the Departure Ceremony to Depot for the successful recruits, held at TA Lagbaja Cantonment, where he described the young men and women as children of the state taking their first steps into a noble and highly disciplined profession.

While acknowledging them as full-fledged members of the Nigerian Army, he noted that they remain a source of pride to Lagos State.
“Our children are taking their first steps into a noble and disciplined calling. While you are now men and women of the Nigerian Army, you remain the pride of Lagos State as you embark on this rare and privileged journey of national service,” he said.
The council boss described the Nigerian Army as a respected and well-structured institution, expressing confidence that the recruits’ decision to enlist has placed them on a clear path toward personal growth and success.
He urged them to remain focused and committed, reminding them of the values Lagosians are known for across the country.
“Lagos is the Centre of Excellence, and Lagosians have always distinguished themselves wherever they serve.
I encourage you to remain disciplined, focused, and committed, and to uphold the values of excellence and integrity associated with our state,” Olowa added.
Hon. Olowa also appreciated the Lagos State Government for its deliberate efforts in expanding youth participation in the enlistment exercise.
He thanked the Governor of Lagos State for the provision of resources and strategic leadership that boosted awareness and participation among young people.
He further commended the Secretary to the State Government for her hands-on coordination and mobilisation of recruits across the state, describing the effort as instrumental to Lagos State’s strong turnout and successful representation in the intake.
