The Executive Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has strengthened security measures across the council area following the gradual restoration of electricity to communities, with a renewed focus on protecting public infrastructure and ensuring the safety of residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chairman said the return of electricity brings renewed economic and social activities, making it imperative to safeguard government facilities, electrical installations, and other public assets from vandalism, theft, and other criminal acts.
To this end, Akinloye has directed the Eredo LCDA security team to intensify surveillance operations and increase routine patrols across strategic locations within the council area.
“The restoration of electricity is a welcome development for our communities. However, we must all remain vigilant to protect electrical installations and other public infrastructure from acts of vandalism and theft,” Akinloye said.
He assured residents that the council would continue to prioritise the security of lives and property, noting that the administration remains committed to maintaining a peaceful and secure environment for all.
“Our security personnel have been directed to strengthen surveillance and sustain regular patrols across the LCDA. We will not relent in our responsibility to ensure that residents continue to live and conduct their daily activities in a safe and secure environment,” he stated.
The Chairman also appealed to residents to complement the efforts of security agencies by remaining vigilant and promptly reporting suspicious movements or attempts to vandalise public facilities.
“Security is a collective responsibility. I urge every resident to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that will help us protect our communities and preserve the development we are witnessing across Eredo LCDA,” he added.
Akinloye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, protecting critical infrastructure, and creating an enabling environment for development as electricity supply continues to improve across the council area.
