The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has urged Yoruba communities to remain alert in light of Nigeria’s rising security concerns.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the monarch spoke during the annual Ode-Omu Day celebration in Osun State, where he commended residents for their commitment to communal development under the leadership of Alaye Ode-Omu, Oba Bolarinwa Oladipupo.

He encouraged Yoruba people to prioritise vigilance and unity while assuring the gathering that Ibadan would continue to support Ode-Omu’s growth. Oba Ladoja also announced that Chief Tunde Afolabi, the Parakoyi of Ibadanland, would chair next year’s celebration.

Earlier at the event, former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, reminded attendees that Ode-Omu’s present settlement traces back to Ibadan warriors who relocated there in 1909.
Several distinguished traditional rulers also attended the celebration, including members of the Olubadan-in-Council, as well as representatives of the Ooni of Ife and the Ogunsua of Modakeke.
