The group’s chairman, Senator Nimbe Farunkanmi, disclosed this during a meeting in Akure, the state capital, on Monday. Farunkanmi, an octogenarian, explained that the movement is dedicated to ensuring party unity and electoral success.
“This is the elders’ movement for Tinubu’s continuity in office. Similar meetings will be replicated across local governments, wards, and polling units ahead of the 2027 elections,” he said.
Also speaking, APC chieftain Jamiu Ekungba stressed that mobilisation would be anchored on commitment, adding that the party had already begun encouraging citizens to take part in the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
Ekungba said the elders were determined to address voter apathy in the state.

“So what we intend to do now is persuade everyone to come out and vote. We will deliver 1.5 million real votes to President Tinubu, and it will be unprecedented,” he noted.
In her remarks, Mrs. Olukemi Iyantan, Ondo State representative at the National Population Commission, said the focus of the elders had shifted to the 2027 general elections after the state governorship poll slated for November 16, 2024.
“With unity of purpose and the guidance of elders, we are confident that President Tinubu’s re-election will be much easier to achieve,” she said.
