The delegation extended solidarity to Governor Makinde, acknowledging his consistent investments in the state’s security layout while expressing deep concern over the timing of the coordinated attacks as political groups gear up for upcoming general elections.
The security crisis erupted after armed bandits executed synchronized raids on three academic institutions in the Ahoro-Esiele axis around 9:30 a.m.
The affected schools were identified as Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, alongside Community Grammar School and L.A. Primary School in Esiele.
Official updates confirm that the invaders abducted a total of seven secondary students, 18 primary pupils, and seven teachers, including the school principal, Rachael Alamu.
The incident took a tragic turn following the circulation of a distressing video showing the execution of an abducted mathematics teacher, Michael Oyedokun, while still in captivity.
Turaki urged residents to maintain heightened communal vigilance and work closely with localized state squads to suppress further incursions.
Reacting sharply to the persistent security breach, the Ibadan branch of the Nigerian Bar Association released an administrative statement signed by its chairman, Ibrahim Lawal, charging the state executive to immediately review and regulate the influx of undocumented persons into Oyo communities.
The legal body demanded strict identity tracing and registration of commercial motorcyclists across the local councils for a stipulated period.
The NBA registered strong disapproval over the slow progress of the joint rescue mission, asserting that the administration’s quiet approach over the past 10 days has fueled anxiety rather than inspiring confidence among the victims’ families.
The association maintained that providing basic welfare and safeguarding civil lives remain the core constitutional purpose of any government, urging state operatives to move past characteristic platitudes and confront the threat head-on.

The state leadership stated that six suspects have been arrested for direct complicity in the school raids, alongside three other persons of interest, as security personnel intensify field operations to rescue the remaining captive children and educators safely.
