According to the police, Daramola, a traditional healer, made several disturbing disclosures during interrogation. He reportedly said that a man identified as Fajemirokun Victor brought the woman and her daughter to him on November 2 for what he described as a money-making ritual. Investigators later found that the mother and child had been killed before their remains were discarded.
On November 17, Daramola allegedly led detectives to the Esa Odo Dam in Osun State, where they found the remains of Funmilayo, a 38-year-old FRSC officer serving in Ogun State. Several parts of her body were missing, raising strong suspicion of ritual practices. The remains were taken to the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital morgue for examination.

Acting on fresh intelligence, police operatives arrested another suspect, Sunday James, on November 20 in Ekiti State. James had earlier been named by the herbalist. During questioning, he allegedly admitted taking part in the crime, saying he acted on Daramola’s instructions, while two others, identified as Kehinde and Idowu, assisted in handling the bodies.
James later led detectives to another bush location, where the remains of the younger victim, Sewa, were recovered. Some parts of her body were also missing. Her remains were deposited at the UNIOSUN morgue.
Victor, identified as a key suspect, fled Nigeria shortly after the incident. A joint operation with INTERPOL led to his arrest in Ghana and subsequent return to Nigeria for further interrogation.
While parading the suspects, the Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Gotan, assured the public that the police are committed to uncovering the full circumstances behind the killings. He added that all arrested individuals will be charged to court once investigations are completed, and efforts are ongoing to track down other accomplices.
