- Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has dismissed recent reports of “fresh claims” for consultancy fees as a distortion of the truth, asserting that no new demands have been made.
- The Senator noted that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has already conducted four separate reviews, all confirming that the contractual work was legally executed.
- Records from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) reportedly verify the audits and payment documentations, contradicting allegations of improper conduct.
Senator Ned Nwoko has come out strongly against what he describes as a “malicious” campaign of misinformation regarding the Paris Club refund consultancy fees.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a statement released by his media team on Friday, April 17, 2026, the lawmaker insisted that the matter is settled and that recent publications are an attempt to smear his reputation.

Nwoko addressed rumors suggesting a “fresh claim” of $350 million, flatly denying that such a sum was ever paid to him or his company.
He emphasized that the financial dealings in question have been under the microscope for years and have consistently passed institutional scrutiny.
According to the Senator, the EFCC has thoroughly investigated the consultancy contracts on four separate occasions.
Each time, the anti-graft agency concluded that the work performed by his firm was valid and that any payments made were in accordance with existing legal agreements.
Nwoko also pointed to the Federal Ministry of Finance and the CBN, stating that their internal audits serve as a matter of public record to support the transparency of the process.
He dismissed any suggestion of a “backdoor deal” with the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, calling such claims “baseless.”

The Delta North Senator revealed that he has already initiated legal proceedings against individuals and outlets responsible for circulating the allegedly defamatory stories.
He cautioned the public against falling for “shadowy narratives” and urged a reliance on verified institutional data.
“There is no fresh claim,” the statement reiterated. “Senator Nwoko remains committed to the rule of law and the transparent execution of his duties, both as a professional and a public servant.”
The Paris Club refund matter has been a recurring theme in Nigerian political discourse for over a decade, involving billions of dollars returned to state governments.
Nwoko’s firm played a central role in the legal and consultancy efforts to recover these funds from the international creditors.
