He noted that one of the key operations took place on April 10 along Ajase-Ipo Road, where operatives intercepted an unregistered Toyota Previa vehicle entering the state from Kogi State.
A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 98 rounds of live ammunition hidden inside a bag of garri, in what the police described as a deliberate attempt to evade detection.
According to the commissioner, three suspects have been linked to the operation, with one allegedly receiving ₦1.3 million to procure the ammunition. He added that efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate who are still at large.
In a separate operation, police arrested two suspected cultists; Lukman Abdul-Salam and Aliu Ismaila in the Odota area of Ilorin over a shop-breaking incident involving goods worth about ₦2.5 million.
While the suspects denied involvement in the theft, they admitted belonging to the Eiye confraternity. Police also recovered an empty AK-47 magazine from their residence.

Similarly, two other suspects, Fabiyi Benson Seyi and Sodiq Rasheed, were arrested in the Ganmo area following a distress call. A locally fabricated shotgun and a live cartridge were recovered during the operation.
In another case, a 29-year-old suspect, Umaru Aliu, was intercepted during a routine patrol along the Oroago axis. Items recovered from him included mobile phones, chargers, and a POS machine, with police investigating possible links to kidnapping.
The command also confirmed the arrest of Hamza Woru in Kaiama for unlawful possession of a human skull. Police said investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly exhumed the remains of a deceased relative for ritual purposes and attempted to sell it.
The commissioner said the case has been charged in court under relevant state laws, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect’s accomplice.
Adekimi reaffirmed the command’s commitment to tackling crime, stressing that security agencies are not only responding to incidents but also proactively dismantling criminal networks across the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and support the police with credible information, noting that collective effort is key to sustaining peace and security in Kwara.
