In a statement posted on his verified Twitter page on Monday, Obi described the continuous spate of criminality in these four states as profoundly distressing and alarming.

He emphasized that the mounting fatalities were not mere statistics but the tragic loss of precious human lives belonging to individuals who were part of families, relatives, and friends.
While acknowledging the efforts made by governments at all levels and security agencies, Obi called for immediate action to curtail the situation before it deteriorated further.
Expressing his concern, he stated,
“The continued horrible spate of all forms of criminality, especially visceral bloodletting and killings, as witnessed recently in Plateau where over 120 people were killed, 50 killed in Sokoto, 31 in Zamfara, and 25 in Benue, are very depressing and extremely worrisome.”
