The long-awaited transformation of to Pobo Market in Poka, Epe Federal Constituency, has taken a significant step forward with the completion of the first phase, featuring 48 modern shops.

Ekohotblog gathers that this milestone, spearheaded by Rep. Wale Raji, is set to boost commerce and economic activities in the region.

The newly built market is designed to provide traders, farmers, and local businesses with a conducive environment to thrive.

Among its standout features is a solar-powered borehole, ensuring reliable water supply and sustainability.

Speaking about the development, Rep. Wale Raji emphasized his commitment to infrastructural growth and economic empowerment in the constituency.

“This project is not just about building shops; it’s about creating opportunities for our people.

With a well-structured marketplace, traders can operate efficiently, and the local economy can grow.

This is part of our vision for sustainable development in Epe Federal Constituency,” he stated.

The excitement does not end here. Plans are already in motion for the second phase of the market project, which will add 24 more lock-up and semi-lock-up shops, bringing the total to 72. Contractors are set to move to the site soon to commence work.

Chief Bolanle Akinlabi, the Market Secretary, praised Rep. Wale Raji for his commitment to Epe’s transformation.

“Hon. Wale Raji has truly brought development to every part of Epe. His projects, from market development to road construction and education support, have positively impacted our people. This new market is a great example of his dedication to improving lives,” she said.

“Before now, we struggled with makeshift stalls that were not convenient, especially during the rainy season. This new market is a dream come true for many of us. We now have a better place to sell our goods and attract more customers,” she added.

Similarly, Mr. Oladimeji, a local farmer, highlighted the positive impact the market will have on agricultural trade.

“This project means farmers like me will have a structured place to sell our produce without middlemen taking advantage of us. It’s a big relief,” he noted.
